It’s amazing to me that just one single black man becoming president melted half of the American populations brains and made them so incredibly pissed.

u/NoHorseNoMustache 3h ago

I saw it happen in real time: The old dude I hung out with/took care of at the time was not a Fox News watching crazy person until Obama got elected. Like a damn lightswitch, boom he's watching Fox and talking crazy.

Thankfully before he passed in 2012 he realized that the GOP was full of goddamn morons and admitted he'd been wrong about a lot of things. Trump would have horrified him.

133

u/thediecast 2h ago

That was my grandpa, my dad was always a vocal racist but my grandpa was for sure republican and his racism was there just not crazy in your face (not that that’s better mind you) but once Obama was there it was open season on him being crazy.

36

u/NoHorseNoMustache 2h ago

Yup...took him a few years to shake it off but I think it was Michelle Bachmann's trash news conference from that hotel lobby during the 2012 primaries that finally made him realize what a clownshow the GOP actually was. He couldn't believe she was a serious contender for the nomination.

He wasn't a dumb man, just provincial. I think he would have voted for Obama if he hadn't passed that August.

38

u/another_bot_probably 1h ago

I'd never heard my mom say anything about Dubbya or politics in general until she called Obama the antichrist. She's still religious, but now she "doesn't talk politics" or "keep up with the news." Opioid of the masses.

23

u/NoHorseNoMustache 1h ago

No opinion on the War on Terror or anything substantive but a black man in the White House suddenly makes her pay attention, figures, right?

15

u/another_bot_probably 1h ago

Oh the War of Terror that saw so many deaths of innocent civilians of a different religion? Well they should have just been raised following the right one... /s

I pride myself on abandoning the prejudice I was raised on, though I'm sure I fall short unconsciously.

7

u/NoHorseNoMustache 1h ago

Good on you, trying is really the point!

1

u/another_bot_probably 57m ago

Agreed! And speaking of "trying," here's a tangentially related tune

Take it easy _^

104

u/ReverendBread2 3h ago

But what about the tan suit??

79

u/gayfantrash 3h ago

THE TAN SUIT RUINED AMERICA!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? ALL OUR CREDIBILITY WENT OUT THE WINDOW WITH THAT SUIT!!! 🤬😤 /j

44

u/bobert4343 3h ago

And the absolute scandal of having dijon mustard!

16

u/NotThatEasily 1h ago

And it’s worth pointing out that he didn’t even have any Dijon mustard. He asked the worker at the restaurant if he (the worker) suggested any particular condiments on the food he ordered (I can’t remember if it was a hot dog, burger, or something similar,) and then Obama listed a few examples of condiments and Dijon was one of the examples.

It was mentioned as an example of a condiment during a conversation where he asked for someone else’s opinion.

That fucking dijon mustard was the main topic of conversation on Fox for over a week. That’s how truly controversy free most of the Obama presidency was. A tan suit, feet on the desk, Dijon mustard, and their choice of dog breed were hot topics of conversation.

9

u/Toothlessdovahkin 3h ago

And don’t forget the mustard! That’s the worst one!

3

u/NeroShenX 1h ago

Don't forget the Terrorist Fist Bump!

52

u/Enraiha 2h ago

Not so amazing when you realize the Civil Rights Act was the mid 60s and tons of those bigots were/are still alive. And they passed their hate to their kids.

We aren't really that far removed from segregation and such.

16

u/altacan 1h ago

Lyndon B Johnson's quote remains evergreen.

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

24

u/BoneHugsHominy 1h ago

There are MAGA Boomers who as little children had family picnics at public lynchings.

11

u/Darmok47 1h ago

Emmett Till could easily have lived to the present day. He was born one year before Joe Biden.

3

u/nikiterrapepper 1h ago

What a tragedy

25

u/YmmaT- 3h ago

Seriously. Obama becoming literally set off the spark of racism that was deeply suppressed in all these MAGAt.

u/filthster 8m ago

I’d argue it wasn’t suppressed all that deeply.

33

u/Quickfix30 3h ago

Remember how he single handedly brought racism back by

checks notes

being a black guy in charge?

17

u/Capable_Career_254 2h ago

Right wingers crashed out because Obama didn't act like the stereotype of black people they had in their head and they couldn't deal with that

17

u/Ill-Team-3491 1h ago

Same with Michelle. They really need her to be a stereotype. They tried everything to knock her down. They had nothing. Nothing but she has nice arms and she wants kids to eat vegetables.

10

u/blkguyformal 2h ago

Think about it this way - in response to the first black president, that same half of the country made a lecherous idiot president, and our brains have been melting ever since. As hard as it is for us to see it, that half of the country feels the same way about Obama as we feel about Trump.

2

u/deadlysinderellax 24m ago

Thankfully not for the same reasons. Dude I can't imagine hating everyone and everything as much as they do.

8

u/Panda_hat 2h ago

I think it made them realise that democracy can do things that they don't want or like and they had the sudden realisation that they hated that and that it was completely unacceptable to them.

Since that point they have worked hard to actively undermine, sabotage and destroy it.

5

u/MichaelJServo 1h ago

People don't talk about the Tea Party as much as they should. I was screaming about how conservatives have actually been racist forever and they just put on a veneer of tolerance

4

u/IAmReallyNotReal 1h ago

You're surprised? This way of thought hasn't changed and has been in this country stewing since the Civil War

3

u/EuenovAyabayya 53m ago

melted half of the American populations brains

It's more like 20%, but they're really melted.

2

u/boblasagna18 42m ago

It was weird bc as a white child I kinda assumed other white people were in agreement that the era of them running everything was over and that Obama being elected was part of a transitional period where people of other races will be given power equal to whites. Great job fucking that up now they hate us even more.

1

u/Prestigious_Snow3309 1h ago

And he had the nerve to do two terms. It blew their minds.

1

u/MidnightOnTheWater 16m ago

I've been saying this since 2016

u/jdave512 13m ago

https://youtu.be/JIjenjANqAk

I think about this video a lot. After McCain was defeated, the right wing realized that a message of unity was not what their base wanted. They wanted to be scared bigots. They wanted to vote for the woman in red.

0

u/BrocoliAssassin 36m ago

I know hah.

Hey so since Epstein and them are evil for killing kids. Remind me again, how many innocent Muslims died by Obama's bombing? Just curious, cause I know since it's made up by the military those deaths suddenly don't count.

Cause you can't do anything about killing all those innocent people since Obama was a zionist. But this is reddit where you can't really question or think about stuff like that so just hit that downvote button.

Like, don't be an Islamaphobe, that's not cool. But voting for Zionist owned politicians on both the left and right that bankrupt us for Israel and our military is basically for Israel use is like totally normal and not to be questioned.

Whats that slogan go, "Support the troops!",right? Always gotta support, never question..hmm... I wonder why.

Also wouldn't be surprised if they think the reference to Barak is Obama and not Ehud Barak. Even though the spelling is different. Not the smartest crew.

94

u/da2Pakaveli 3h ago

There are mentions of Obama in the files cause Epstein was discussing politics, just like there is a technical manual on bash scripting.

There isn't anything accusing him.

The only "tangible" one they obsess over is a woman mailing with Epstein who now is at Goldman Sachs but served as a White House counselor.

If we wanna go there just look at Dumb's first term. Acosta, who gave Epstein the sweetheart deal, as Labor Secretary and David Barr as his AG, son of William Barr who got Epstein's career started.

48

u/HowMany_MoreTimes 3h ago

son of William Barr who got Epstein's career started.

The same William Barr who wrote multiple sci-fi novels about elites keeping child sex slaves

19

u/bolanrox 3h ago

wow how L Ron Mission Earth of him

10

u/Lennyhi 2h ago

I'm already down so many rabbit holes you guys...make it stop.

17

u/HowMany_MoreTimes 2h ago

The real rabbit hole is that this isn't just a US issue, it's global. The extremely wealthy buy politicians, control the media and act with impunity from the law. They are sociopaths who view normal people as disposable toys to be used and destroyed.

They're trying hard to paint Epstein as some mastermind operating on his own initiative, the truth is he was just one cog in the machine. A machine of human misery for the sick pleasures of a small cadre of filthy rich well-connected parasites who cling on to the underbelly of human civilization.

This is happening in basically every country, they're just being more blatant in the US now than before because they've managed to completely capture the governmental systems through weaponised racism and religion.

Look at the UK with Jimmy Saville, who's proclivities were known about for years by the establishment and kept hidden from the public until conveniently after his death. He was close with the royals. Old Mountbatten was basically the Epstein of Ireland. Now we have ex prince Andrew involved with Epstein.

Look at Belgium and the Dutroux affair. He was protected and enabled by people very high up in the justice system and clearly wasn't the ringleader.

Look at MBS in Saudi Arabia.

I could go on all day.

6

u/Lennyhi 2h ago

Alright here we go

4

u/SomethingIWontRegret 52m ago

Qanon has to dress it up in adrenochrome and human sacrifices when the actual truth doesn't require B-movie plots and lizard people. Just the worst people you can imagine, with essentially limitless wealth, and no conscience holding them back.

7

u/IrNinjaBob 2h ago

Had never heard about this, but this seems to be Donald Barr, Bill’s father. Still pretty interesting though.

8

u/HowMany_MoreTimes 2h ago

Yeah it was Donald Barr sorry, the man who hired Epstein to teach at an elite private school when he was a college dropout with no teaching experience or qualifications.

90% of it was actually them just discussing Brak from Space Ghost. Epstein was apparently obsessed with Space Ghost.

> Your boos mean nothing, i've seen what makes you cheer.

* Rick, Rick and Morty

30

u/ObeseVegetable 1h ago

Bit almost ironic given the controversy there.

Charges dropped, but…

Damn.

3

u/superawesomeman08 1h ago

what controversy?

27

u/ObeseVegetable 1h ago

Justin Roland, co-creator of Rick and Morty and the voices of those two and many other characters on the show, was seemingly very credibly accused of sexual crimes including pursuing minors. Charges dropped for not having enough “tangible” evidence but there were 11 people who came forward with stories.

And his co creator and longtime friend very publicly dropped him as a friend which means he probably believes there’s something to it.

7

u/superawesomeman08 1h ago

oh that. yeah fuck that guy

that being said im fairly certain he didn't write for the show by that point

10

u/ObeseVegetable 1h ago

Right. Still voiced that line though.

Also, tangentially, Elon Musk was in that episode.

3

u/superawesomeman08 1h ago

15

u/whore-lit-write 3h ago

Can Michelle run and Barack be Vice-President? Also a win-win.

23

u/Rodster66 3h ago

To be VP you have to be eligible to be president (which Barak isn't currently) also my impression is that Michelle would rather die than run.

8

u/whore-lit-write 2h ago

Lol, I should have read up on my constitution because I didn't know that, thank you! But damn, sucks for us...as in humanity.

1

u/ilmdjb 1h ago

I also never thought of that but it makes sense, if your VP that means you’re next in line to be president if anything happens to them. Would prevent the loophole of convincing someone to run as president while a former prez ran as their VP and then new president stepping down as soon as elected.

4

u/UnfortunateEarworm 3h ago

I read that the files have a lot of news clippings in them and he was president at the time, so I'd be shocked if he's not mentioned a lot.

8

u/walkingmelways 3h ago

Trump is worse, supporting genocide and fomenting regime change in Iran etc etc — but Obama is no angel, still droned innocent Iraqis to death.

13

u/ObeseVegetable 1h ago

Yeah Obama did a LOT of droning. 542 drone strikes over the eight year period.

Which makes it crazy that in the first two years of his first term, Trump did more than Obama. 2,243. Then he realized that was public information and revoked the Obama executive order that had made them public. And had another two years after that.

4

u/ObnoxiousAlbatross 1h ago

The reason I would vote for him again if I had a time machine is because he owns it. He doesn't accuse generals or cabinet members or appointees. He takes the credit he is due because he was the one signing off on it all.

Trump has no concept of this, nor does any part of MAGA. Everyone is a potential scapegoat, there is no accountability.

1

u/rustyseapants 49m ago

Why are you comparing President Obama with angels, rather than other Presidents?

3

3

No, you moral voids

8

u/BigPOEfan 2h ago

So by your logic, you have accepted that if you had the money and power you would fuck children??

9

u/HowMany_MoreTimes 3h ago

The people who get to that level of money or power are usually quite fucked up and sociopathic to begin with.

A psychologically healthy person doesn't have the overwhelming desire to accumulate far more wealth than they will ever need or exercise power over other humans.

Then once they get the money and power they get corrupted further by the lack of limitations and encouragement from other rich powerful monsters.

3

u/homofreakdeluxe 2h ago edited 2h ago

seems people missed your message. btw it’s not just “men”, his own wife was helping him. very often women are perfectly fine assisting inhumanity, from this to political or religious behavior.

y’all the point is calling them “monsters” is a form of protecting yourself from acknowledging they’re not much different from people walking around you. Give enough people that level of money it will keep happening. Majority of child predators are family members close to the victim

There has been a poll of people asked if they would commit rape if they knew they could get away with it, as high as 30% of respondents said yes.
